Quandary

Wet, dark and late.

With four paired decreases remaining on the cuff, I tried the gansey on. The sleeves will be too long by the distance covered by those four decreases. If I start the cuffs now, I’ll need to decrease 7 or 11 stitches to get a reasonable cuff. I think it will leave the sleeve too puffy if I do. Might as well try it; it’s just yarn and I bought extra.
I could just finish the sweater as planned and give it to someone else.
And my Touch ate most of this post.

Positive Progress

It's like winter here again. Boring. Grey.

The left sleeve is now even with the right. I have 28 rounds to go before the cuff and 20 or so for that.
I’m typing this out in my Touch—just to see if it works for me as a mobile update.

Negative Progress

On roughly round 88 of the stockinette portion of the gansey sleeve, I found an error on roughly round 34 of said section. I had split the stitch on the round below and increased by one. No ripping out that much. I snipped a strand a few rows up (cuff-ward) and picked out the strand to lose four inches of finely knit sleeve.
I frogged two or three rounds, cut the crinkled yarn and spit-joined a clean yarn on.
The real pain is that I was knitting the two sleeves in near unison to keep the tension even. Here’s hoping the sleeves end at roughly the same length.

Crochet is Useful, but…

hey, it's not snowing! rain.

For a switch, I took yarn and a crochet hook to work today. Crap. I cannot do this on conference calls. I have to look at it. Four dpn’s on 2.25mm—no problem. One 3.5mm crochet hook and I can’t even count. I’m taking the socks back to work tomorrow.
I would have taken them today, but it was raining. As it is now.
