Wind

I finished round 112 of F&F early this morning and am coming to the end of the third ball of yarn, the last I had wound. I’ve reached this point a little early by my calculations, having discarded much of the four rounds I frogged last week. With my morning coffee, I have wound the remaining six I will need. Note that the one in back is a bit small: I bungled getting the hank on the swift and had to abandon the last twenty yards as hopelessly tangled.
As long as I had the swift and ball-winder out, I wound up some Gems Opal—indigo and charcoal—that I bought before I started F&F. The turquoise ball is some silky wool I frogged out of a baby hat that wasn’t turning out as I wanted.
I am tempted to start another project, one that I can finish quickly, a gift bag maybe. Nothing I’m working on will be done anytime soon. I’m only a third of the way through F&F, 60% through Birch and 25% through the rayon scarf.
At this point, btw, F&F has 800 stitches per round. Progress slows.
Ernesto’s been pretty much of dud rain-wise in Brooklyn. The wind has been impressive though. The tarp covering the construction dumpster in front of our building has been flapping loudly much of the morning. No biking today. Maybe tomorrow.
