Snow Day/Work Day
Posted on Sunday, 4 December 2005, 10:03Blech! It’s only pretty for a moment, then it’s just slush.
On the knitting front, there’s nothing to show. I have been working and working and working on a pair of socks. That’s one “working” for each time I did the heel. On finishing the heel for the third time, and finishing off my ball of yarn in the process (it’s a peasant heel, so the heel’s the last part), I took Tricky’s advice and cast on for the second sock. The toe is done and I’m headed up the instep. Unfortunately this has to be a work day (brought home from the office) and the sock will have to wait.
I had my first stress EKG on Thursday, a precautionary, base-line measure only (only 874 days until Fifty). They call that a stress test? The first 3 min were at a pace I haven’t used since I was 5. The next three were still slower than my usual clip, but reasonable. The next 3 were no worse than a quick walk, such as when I’m late to work or it’s cold out and I want to get home. The final 3 minutes were a jog, but that was it. Then the technician took the treadmill back down to glacial. That’s worse than jogging. I just can’t walk that slowly.
I get more stress (in that sense) walking uphill from the wine shop to the cheese shop.
Have to work now. Blech!
Braciole for dinner. A bit of work, but worth it.
