No, this is not my new banner image. It’s an eight-foot scarf on a slightly-larger-than 5×8 rug. I’m standing on a chair to take this and it still won’t fit in one shot (not that I’m that tall). Wrapped three times around my neck, both ends still hang down to my waist.

Yes, I knew what gauge I had. No, I don’t know if I counted correctly, and I tacked on a few(?) more stitches because J says I always underestimate the length a scarf should be. No problem this time.

It’s actually a bit less pink and more rosy than it seems here. I knit this on a 60 inch #8 Addi Turbo circ in four shades of Reynolds Rapture (50% silk/50% wool), which I still like (and still have enough for an oversized hat). Here’s another shot.

I’ve swatched a square of elsebeth lavold Angora (60% angora/20% wool/20% polyamide), which I got on sale, for a sweater for myself. I like it: it’s very soft, like cat hair.
