On the Other Hand

Having Excel on the Mac meant that I could work on this incredibly boring spreadsheet at home rather than having to go into work for the third weekend in row.

I really have to stop saying “I can do that” in these stupid meetings.
It is November in NYC, but you’d hardly know it, if it weren’t for sunsets at 4:30. I had a nice, hard one-hour-forty-minute bike ride this afternoon. The trees are turning, the wind was cool, the traffic was relatively light and my legs are killing me. Then again it’s been a few weeks since I went out and I am carrying two or three pounds more than I did in August.
The lengthwise scarf is not turning out to be the artistic masterpiece I’d hoped for. Probably still giftable, but I’m doubting the point of putting so much effort into an object that no one has actually requested. Seems presumptuous. Like I would know what a teenage girl would be caught dead wearing.

Presumably she and I have something in common and therefore she has high standards. So I should just give up.
I finally bought little paper tags to tie to my swatches to note what needles were used and what the gauge is. I’d have a significant pile of swatches if I didn’t keep throwing them out because I have no idea how I knitted them.
