We Have Sock

new sock on J's foot

Lookie. It’s a sock. Completed. Fortunately, it is now too warm for wool socks and I’m under no pressure to come up with the second one yet. I will. Let me finish the hat first, since the hat also needs the #2 dpn’s.

I had a bit of trouble binding off. No one who knits is ever getting a closeup of that edge. I cheated big-time.

The leg, BTW, is J’s.

We seem to have skipped spring altogether. The air conditioners are on, the one in this office because the fans on the G5’s have been going into overdrive to cool the processors.

I got out early before it got too hot and got a good hour and a half of biking in. Over to 7th Ave, down to 20th St, hurtled down McDonald Ave (much better down than up), cut over to East 9th St, down to Bay Pkwy and 61st St and back up 9th Ave to the cemetary, then up 5th Ave and 3rd Ave. I was stiff going out, since I had been out late yesterday afternoon, but was still strong coming in, staying mainly in 5th gear (second rank).

[The bike has 21 speeds, and I have yet to use the third rank and have only used the first rank once intentionally, going up McDonald Ave after an hour and a quarter on the bike.]

It was certainly too hot to knit baby blanket.

It was too hot to even cook tonight. Tuna and bean salad.

For tonight’s controversial statement: the Tonys are so boring.
