Short Ones
Posted on Monday, 9 May 2005, 22:31The shipper ‘neglected’ to tell FedEx that I wanted the chair delivered on Saturday. FedEx was waiting for me to call them. AARGH.
The new girl started at work today. I have to say just how refreshing it is to finally see someone who actually and naturally uses the right mouse button. I have hope.
She also apparently is aware that pivot tables exist and have a useful purpose. Wonders never cease.
A stray or extra YO ended up in the wrong place, four rows down, in the brioche of the baby blanket. For the life of me, I cannot reconstruct brioche with a crochet hook. I am avoiding the act of threading a 40″ #1 circ into the sixth row down (I’ve stretched the fifth too badly) and ripping out 900 or so stitches, counting yarn-overs.
I started a hat, instead, for J: purple and black Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (it’s the new alpaca) on a #2 Addi Turbo for a dense fabric. I started with a cable cast-on for the first time, but resorted to a crochet hook to get it on the needle. It does make a looser CO, which is good because mine are usually too tight. Anybody know how to get the bind-off to match? Not that it matters on a hat, but I’m wondering.
Lynne sent me three more hanks of the pink, so I will forge on. After my hat diversion.
