Nebuchadnezzar in Drag (Scarf IV)

This done entirely in a brioche pattern. The plan is to knit another foot in a contrasting color, yet to be determined, then duplicate this piece and bind the two pieces off together in the center.

Eventually 3 skeins Misti Alpaca Chunky (100g./108yds), 2 in grey/black (color 436), a third in white; #13 bamboo needles (aargh);

Ready to Desert XP? You Tell Me

I am seriously considering jumping in the car next Saturday, driving out to Roosevelt Field mall, walking into the Apple Store, laying out the big bucks and driving away with a new G5 and a new monitor and whatever else catches my eye.

J says I don’t really want a Mac, but can’t quite explain why, other than he doesn’t want me to have a better G5 than he does, and he really doesn’t want me to get the big flat screen monitor (hey, they’re my aging eyes) that he doesn’t have.

I’m not a Microsoft hater. Me and Windows go way back, way, way back. I know it too intimately. When it’s recalcitrant, I usually can figure out why. Probably because it has been recalcitrant so much. It has it’s good points, but it gets slower and slower with every security patch and there new patches every week. Linux and Open Source have their appeal, but I’d rather spend my time knitting than programming now.

Please comment and give me reasons why I should not abandon this PC for a Mac. Well?

Fastest FO Yet

I have completed the hat–in only five days. I’ve washed and blocked it on a bowl. Pictures tomorrow after it has dried.

One Down, How Many To Go?

I have, in fact, just finished ‘Nebuchadnezzar in Drag’ (Scarf IV), and it does look fab.

I have started the final decreases for the new cap, but have f**ked up the count between them somehow, even with markers. In better light tomorrow, I’ll reason it out.

Update: I received a new ACLU card on Thursday with the printing correctly aligned. Cool. Did they read my post?

I saw another ACLU card posted this week. I hope it’s a trend.

Well

My brother Matthew would have been 44 today. It’s been a long time.
