The Scarf, the Car, the Hat

Black & white alpaca scarf in brioche pattern

The above is the scarf I just can’t seem to finish, the really gay one. It’s very fluffy. It wants a turn at the piano bar, or at least its share of a drag queen’s spotlight.

If the white had gone down the middle, it would resemble a skunk.

My neighbor jumpstarted the car again Wednesday after work and the battery finally kept a charge long enough for me to get it into dealer service this morning. No problems. The price was what I expected, there is one item of note: 1 new master key for the Jetta: $248.42. Only had one; I needed a spare.

I started my new reversible cap with the black Filatura di Crosa Millefili Fine cotton on Wednesday morning before work, using a 3mm/40cm (#2/16 in) Addi Turbo circ, getting about 5 st per inch and I’ve already finished half, taken out the provisional cast-on, knit the turning row and four more rows of black and am about to start the orange for the other side. Less than three days, which feels good.

There are, of course, no pictures yet, because a black hat looks like a blob on the camera. When it’s done and the orange is there for contrast, then there will be pics.

There is one advantage to being incredibly nearsighted: the close-up work required to get the circ back into the provisional CO was easy without my glasses and three inches from my nose.

Have to stop reading blogs by cute guys 53%-66% of my age. Makes me feel old and not any wiser. I hate April.

Addendum

Colleen: The Misti is very easy to work with, but I found “sticks” on bamboo. I loved knitting with it.
