Gearshift Mitten #1

gearshift_001_fo.jpeg

My sister wanted a cover for the gearshift knob in her car; it gets too hot to touch in the summer and too cold in the winter. This is my first attempt, but it may be to small. I wanted to make sure it would be secure. It is about 3/4 in of single rib followed by k3p1 rib. The decrease is all ssk.

Three Down, Hundreds to Go

It’s done: Scarf #3 was completed somewhere between 10:00pm and 10:25pm. YAY! And wouldn’t you know it, the third skein of green ran out just shy of the end of the next to last row, two rows from completion. AARGH. The transition to Skein IV was less than perfect, but is (almost) hidden in the bind-off.
Pictures tomorrow, when the background light is better.

The real question is whether I’ll ever be able to wash it. Fifty cents the red will run into the green first chance it gets. The label is quite specific: do not dry clean. Oh well, it will be nice while it lasts.

I could have finished it sooner, but other projects kept calling. And face it, new dpn’s are more interesting than seemingly endless repetitions of K3P2. But I can’t have more than two things going or I’ll never see any progress.

Next: socks or cables? Or gearshift mitten?

New Style

I’ve changed the style of this page, as you can see, and moved everything from my web page to this site (see MarQ1’s Stuff at left). This is easier than maintaining stuff in two places.
